Psykolog Michelle Lindhardt
Metakognitiv psykolog i København

Michelle Lindhardt

I offer therapy in English. You can read about me here...
My name is Michelle Lindhardt and I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Utrecht University. As a psychologist, I work with metacognitive therapy which I have a lot of experience with. I’m passionate about making a difference for adults and teenagers who struggle with mental health. I particularly have experience with treating stress, anxiety, grief, depression, OCD, insomnia and low self-esteem. I’m looking forward to help you with the challenges that you’re facing :-)
Metacognitive psychologist in Copenhagen and online
I have broad experience in metacognitive therapy, conducting both individual and group sessions. Besides facilitating in-person sessions, I've worked with a diverse clientele from across the globe, honing my skills in conducting online therapy sessions. Having lived abroad for several years, I understand the challenges faced by internationals in navigating diverse cultural landscapes. As a psychologist, I strive to make evidence-based therapy more accessible on a global scale, bridging cultural and geographical barriers to ensure individuals from all backgrounds have access to evidence-based mental health care.
In addition to ongoing supervision, I've completed specialized training in metacognitive therapy, earning certification as an MCT-I® registered therapist (Level I) from the MCT Institute under the guidance of Professor Adrian Wells, the founder of MCT. In my practice, I have found metacognitive therapy to be profoundly meaningful and effective, an experience shared by my clients who have found it to be very valuable as well.
Aside from my clinical work, I have contributed to psychological research investigating the effectiveness of metacognitive therapy in addressing different mental health issues (e.g., insomnia, prolonged grief disorder, and binge eating disorder). Continuously staying up-to-date with the latest empirical research, I strive to integrate the newest knowledge into my therapeutic work to ensure the delivery of high quality evidence-based practice.
Metacognitive therapy is an evidence-based treatment that effectively identifies maladaptive strategies and reduces excessive worry and rumination, significantly impacting our mental well-being. While experiencing negative thoughts throughout the day is normal, feeling trapped in negative thought patterns can severely impact our mental well-being. My goal is to help you alter these patterns and gain greater control over your thought processes, to ultimately improve your mental health and overall well-being.
I find it crucial to establish a trustworthy and empathic connection in which you feel comfortable to share the pressing matters you are dealing with. During therapy, we will assess your current situation and work with concrete metacognitive exercises to help you to gain more control over your thought processes. Through this process, you'll learn to break free from unhelpful patterns and cultivate more adaptive strategies which can significantly improve your mental well-being.
I'm genuinely passionate about making a positive impact through my work. I’m looking forward to hearing from you and helping you overcome the mental challenges you’re currently facing :-)
Warm regards,
Michelle Lindhardt
